Why Low Fat Diets Don't Work

While many people wishing to lose a few pounds think that cutting back on fat will ensure those extra pounds come off, the body actually requires a certain amount of the right fats for good health.

-->> Did you know that fat is partially responsible for the pleasant taste of foods, so reducing or cutting out fat may make meals bland?

This may make a diet extremely difficult to stay on.
Cutting out all fat may initially result in weight loss but there is also a high risk of the body burning muscle along with the stored fat and this will result in a low metabolic rate. Animal fats can be safely reduced from the diet, but like any food, a small amount will do no harm.

Substituting fish for meat a couple of times a week will reduce animal fats and add in some more of the 'good' fats such as Omega 3. Avocados are also another good source of the 'good' fats.

So, keep a little good fat in your diet!
